Overview
As you can see above SuperRiff comes in two flavours, Guitar and Bass.
SuperRiff Guitar and SuperRiff Bass are simple VST instruments that contain a limited set of custom electric and bass guitar single note samples for use in computer music production.
All the info on this site and more is contained on PDF help-files supplied with the plugins.

About SuperRiff Guitar/Bass
There many types of free guitar and bass VST plug-ins available on the net and SuperRiff is not intended to compete with any of them but rather to give musicians another free option to consider.
The idea with SuperRiff Guitar/Bass was to create a soundset of samples that contain the most basic ways of getting sound from a guitar (at least in the rock world) and to combine them in such a way that all they could be used to create a simple but reasonable rhythm/lead or bass guitar performance.
Both guitar and bass plug-ins have been created with rock type productions in mind but of course can be used in any genre.
The basic guitar sounds mentioned are:
1: Palm-muted single notes.
2: Open string single notes
3: Vibrated single notes. (Not in Bass Version)
(You can find a short description of palm-muting technique in the included help-files).
Each note on a keyboard from E1 to D5 (Guitar), E1 to E4 (Bass) can trigger these different sounds depending on which one of their velocity values is triggered.
Velocity values as they are normally used do not apply to SupeRiff Guitar/Bass. The different values are used as triggers for the appropriate samples and not as a means to affect dynamic velocity control values such as soft and hard.
For example, in the guitar plug, low velocity values trigger the palm-muted samples, mid-range values trigger the open string samples and high-range velocity values trigger the vibrato samples.
Mod wheel use is also possible in both plugs. (details in the included help-files).
The interface of both plugs allows access to some simple functions to add to the instruments performance such as an ADSR envelope, a reverb unit (guitar), a mono flanger unit (bass) and a "listen mode" which is described in full detail in the help file.
